The Digswell Banjo Band

The Digswell Banjo Band

The Digswell Banjo Band began as an evening class for the London Borough Of Waltham Abbey some thirty odd years ago. As the students became able to play their instruments, a decision was made to play at local charity events to both entertain the elderly and provide experience for the banjoists.

Any music is possible on the banjo. Indeed the band’s repertoire has varied from light classics, Latin, sing-alongs, to jazz. Apart from the banjos, we also feature a tuba, washboard and vocals.

Now, thirty something years later, with a number of personnel changes, The Digswell Banjo Band still thrives. It meets every Monday 2.00 to 4.00pm in North Weald, Essex for rehearsals/tuition and is led by David Price. If you play the banjo – or would like to, come along for a cuppa on a Monday and see how much fun we have.

We accept one play-out per month in the area local to Essex. Our concerts usually last for one hour and are guaranteed to get your feet tapping and put a smile on your face. Call David Price for details on 01992 524887
